The pollution situation of the Ergene River which is vital for the Thrace region continues to increase. Industrial activities and increasing environmental pollution problems with the use of pesticides must also be followed. One of the main agricultural production materials of Western Thrace is rice paddy, which is among the main product affected by the pollution. Studies, which are for the healt of humanity, affect on toxic and accumulation of agricultural products, are important and have to observed. In facts of toxic heavy metals remains constant in the environment and enter the food chain. Their accumulation in the ecological environment continues to increase, and for many years their effectiveness has been a priority among the ongoing chemical pollution.

In this study soil, irrigation water and plant sampling were done from the paddy fields of the Ergene River in the Muhacirkadı village of the Uzunköprü district of Edirne province during both seed and harvest periods. For the following analyse the samples are going to be prepared by using the microwave digestion method. The amounts of Ni (Nickel) and Co (Cobalt) contained were analyzed by ICP-OES. The control of method validity is provided by certified reference materials (CRM), NIST-2709 (san-joaquin soil), NIST-1640a (natural water), NIST-1570a (spinach leaves).
